I always love it when people mix up rogue and rouge. It's my favourite typo. Nothing like reading about Castiel the rouge angel.

I haven't been writing recently mostly because I suddenly decided to rewatch the entire Kung Fu: The Legend Continues series. I was too busy enjoying all the father and son hugs. (Yes, I ignored all the romance and kung-fu fighting and focused on the hugs)

But I might have a fic up soon or possibly something completely different...

I know in fandom/fanfiction we can be a bit loose when it comes to definitions, but am I using the term 'fluff' wrong?  I usually use it to refer to any non-angsty, heart-warming type fic I write. But there is this new community for Supernatural Fluff ([info]lettherebefluff ) which defines 'fluff' as non-angsty, romance fic. All my fic are gen.
daylight_darknight: (Plot Bunnies)
You'd think after writing Supernatural fic for over a year now, I'd be running out of ideas.

Instead of the two short things I wanted to write before starting on a sequel to Practically Human, I seem to be writing a 5 things fic which is apparently going to be 1 thing short.

But the real question is can I write something which switches from Christianity to new age belief to science all in a few paragraphs or is that mixing things up a bit too much?

I have completed a 15,000 word draft (which for me is very long) of a Supernatural fic. It's all separated out into nice little chapters so I can post them as I proofread them which was the plan. The problem is that I'm a paranoid and nitpicky perfectionist, so I keep jumping back and changing things.

Plus I seem to have somehow gotten myself involved in a dance performance on Sunday and have four hour rehearsals every day until then. So this might take a while longer.

But I have written, and sort of completed, something!

I keep hitting snags while trying to write Supernatural fic recently. The main problem being that I know absolutely nothing about guns, cars or alcohol.

I feel this should be applied to Castiel in someway either as inspiration for a fic or music video, but I don't have any ideas for it.

"An Angry Blade"
By Iron and Wine

Who left you so?
Who left you so?
Who left you so?

Striking a match for the keyhole
Dark as the evening laid
When he left you all alone

Turning to fade through the sawgrass
Tall as the only love
That you'll ever really know

Who left you so?
Who left you so?
Who left you so?

Grace is a gift for the fallen dear
You're an angry blade and you're brave
But you're all alone

Turning a shade of an angel born
In a bramble ditch when the doors
Of heaven closed

My muse has returned! Actually, I don't think my muse has returned. I think a brand spanking new muse with bonus special features has turned up. I've just written 3000 words in one day of a Supernatural fic I've been meaning to write for ages. Usually, I'm lucky to write 500. I don't want to go to sleep because I'm afraid the muse will be gone when I wake up.

The fact is that I don't know where ideas come from, or even where to look for them. Nor does any writer. This is not quite true, in fact. If you were writing a book on the mating habits of pigs, you'd probably pick up a few goodish ideas by hanging around a barnyard in a plastic mac, but if fiction is your line, then the only real answer is to drink way too much coffee and buy yourself a desk that doesn't collapse when you beat your head against it.

Help please!

Could someone define the expression 'poetic irony' for me?

I just want to make sure it means what I think it means (ie poetic justice with a side of irony)

ETA: No one seems to know so I shall just use it and be damned.

Writing Bobby's POV is hard! For some reason, his voice doesn't seem to quite mesh with my writing style. I think I've sort of got a handle on it now (I've written about 400 words) but I still keep having to go back and correct things because Bobby wouldn't word things that way. Everything has to be straightforward, no metaphors, no covering anything up in florid prose, no wording things in unique and interesting ways, and no excuses. It's probably actually a very good writing exercise for me.

Must continue. Must prove that despite everything that happened Bobby is still awesome!

Alternatively this could be considered a short standalone drabble if I never actually get round to finishing the fic.

"We're back." Giving the air a careful sniff, RJ nodded and smiled. "It's so nice to come home to a kitchen that's not on fire."

"That only happened once," protested Fran as she dashed through leaving a new order before heading back into the restaurant.

"Actually..." Theo admitted placing another pizza in the oven. "It was twice."

"Three times if you count the flambe pizza experiment," added Dom.

"Which you have all wisely vowed never to try again."

The problem is now I feel I should write a new fic entitled 'The Flambe Pizza Experiment'.

Tigers Fall, Lions Rise intrigued me and pulled me back into Power Rangers.

The Spirit of Kindness disappointed me and pulled me back into writing Power Rangers fanfiction.

This is why, though I spend much time waltzing through other fandoms, I always end up back at Power Rangers. It gives just enough to make me want more and then never gives me more. This always leaves me with an unfortunate amount of plot bunnies that I will most likely never finish.

Beware Plot Bunnies Ahead!! )

So far the one most likely to be done is Talk to Me since I've already written over 2000 words of it. Next likely being Fallen Tigers because I really want to write that one. The others are merely vague ideas at the moment.

Blah...

They locked out the games on the computers at work.  :P Just when I was getting close to beating my supervisor's high score at pinball.

Now, I'll have to actually concentrate on more important stuff at work like writing fanfics! :)

PS: If anyone is currently waiting for me to write more PR fics, I'm afraid all my PR muses have temporarily gone on vacation. They were replaced by Robin Hood muses, but before they could finish anything the Robin Hood muses were replaced by Narnian muses. So standby for 'Prince Caspian' fic.  Unless, of course, my muses get replaced once again.

Dear Little Fanfic:

You've been sitting there open on my computer for several days now. Most of you were written several months ago. A couple of weeks ago you came so close to being finished. All you need is a couple hundred more words. Why won't you just end? I know I'm into another series now and I lost the momentum ages ago, but I know where you need to go. You just need to get from where you are to there. Then you can get posted and all these incredibly nice people can read you.

Please.

I put off watching Wild Force because A. I'd heard it wasn't very good and B. I hadn't thought much of what I had seen in the two crossover episodes (Forever Red and Reinforcements from the Future) But now I've finally started watching it (I'm up to episode 13)and I find I'm really enjoying it. I only just got through the first few episodes which were pretty horrendous, but after that they consistently have very appealing if not always well written storylines. And I fell in love with the characters a lot sooner then I have when watching other seasons. (I don't think I cared much for the PROO rangers until about episode 20)

Ughh, and I already have a semi Wild Force fic almost finished. I should know better than to watch a new season when I have so many fics to complete.

*goes off to watch more Wild Force*

Ha!

1164 words in 24 hours.

Oh, wait. I'm not doing Nano.

Damn...

And considering that's almost all I've written over the past week. That's probably a good thing.

Ugh
