So my Yuletide fic is done and submitted this morning thank goodness. I was a bit worried there for a bit and spent way too much time stressing out about it. I was sick a good portion of last week so I wasn't able to do much and got behind on everything. Not sure if the fic is my best work and I'm a little nervous about the subject matter, but it was fun to write. The fic is also almost 4000 words long. What happened to the days when I only wrote short stuff? Now everything I write wants to be long. Looking at the other Yuletide prompts and I'd love to write some treats but doubt I'll have the energy to write anything in time.

Snow! We have snow. It snowed all yesterday while I was at work and then when I was coming home it was all melting so I walked home through lakes and rivers of melted snow in hiking boots which were completely filled with water before I was even a quarter of the way home.

Also, it's possible I'm being haunted by pig sock puppets. I had two random occurrences of pig sock puppets two days in a row and I'm waiting for a third to see if it's true.

I was rewatching Tin Man and I think I've finally got it...

Dean is Dorothy
Sam is Toto
Bobby is Uncle Henry
Ellen is Aunty Em
Jo (or maybe Anna) is the Good Witch of the North
Castiel is the Scarecrow
Gabriel is the Tin Man
Balthazar is the Cowardly Lion
Azazel is the Wicked Witch of the East
Lucifer is the Wicked Witch of the West
Chuck/God is the Wizard

Oh, and the Impala is the ruby slippers

Since I have 4 less teeth than average, shouldn't the dentist give me a discount on cleanings?
(About 14% if my calculations are correct)

I'd never seen someone in a gorilla suit and a plaid bonnet dance the Charleston before.

Now I have.

Put Something In

Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-gumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance,
’Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.

~ Shel Silverstein

Last night, I dreamed that I snuck back into high school to take a biology class and then got very confused when the teacher asked me what the latin nomenclature was for umbrella.

In my dance class, we've been warming up to Funkytown and Ittsy Bittsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini sung in french. Contemporary dance classes are lots of fun. They're a great excuse for rolling around on the floor and running around in your bare feet. :)

I always love it when people mix up rogue and rouge. It's my favourite typo. Nothing like reading about Castiel the rouge angel.

I haven't been writing recently mostly because I suddenly decided to rewatch the entire Kung Fu: The Legend Continues series. I was too busy enjoying all the father and son hugs. (Yes, I ignored all the romance and kung-fu fighting and focused on the hugs)

But I might have a fic up soon or possibly something completely different...

Time Warp

According to my free Oxfam Canada calender, tomorrow doesn't exist!! There is no July 31!! Saturday had been completely eliminated. July ends today and August begins on Sunday.

That means tomorrow has no month, no number. It is a void in the year. It is a no time when anything can happen! Does the day even occur at all or will I wake up tomorrow and find I've lost a day and it's suddenly Sunday?

Oxfam shouldn't go around messing with time this way. For all they know, we could all end up swallowed by a giant black hole or disappear into nothingness.

While I was out, I passed a cafe filled with over two dozen people playing the ukulele.

The song they were playing and singing was Creep by Radiohead.

There was a young, skinny man in a wheelchair seated at a table outside one of the many cafes playing cards with a young woman across from him, and lying on his knee attached to a red lead was a little tabby cat enjoying the sun.

On the Bus

As the bus I was on yesterday was going up a hill, the driver suddenly announced, "This bus is old and slow, so if you could all turn your heads to the back and blow, it would really help."

"Suddenly, a serious figure appears.

He says, 'I am the angel of death.'

'But I'm not ready to die.'

'Ah if you do not wish death, how about a rubber chicken.'"

Down by a little dock where they launch kayaks, I saw a sign nailed to a tree. It said this:

Albert is known
to tease kayakers.
The queasy waves
coat his grey
slippery fur.

There was sun today! It's only about the second time I've seen the sun in a month. So I went out to sit in a nearby park for awhile. I really should have brought a book but I just dashed out as soon as I saw it because I was worried it would disappear behind a cloud at any moment (which it did within half an hour) The park is near to an elementary school and while I was sitting admiring the sun, a teacher brought out his class for a walk around the block. As they got closer I noticed the teacher was wearing a cape. Then he started to run. It was quite a wonderful sight, the middle aged man running along the sidewalk with a red cape flying behind him and twenty little children chasing after him.

I got to see a free showing of some animated shorts yesterday as part of International Animation Day. In the theater I was at on the seat in front of me was a little metal plaque. It said this:

"Indignant Piddles & Bumbling Goats Forever"

What happened to the bus that was supposed to take me to the park?

What happened to the workshop that was supposed to be going on at said park?

Why hasn't anyone told the raccoons by the lagoon that they're supposed to be nocturnal?

Who keeps giving flowers to the stone lady?
