I almost thought Cas was going to stay in bed for an unforeseen amount of time- which would make Dean finally drop everything and come, but then Bobby was Bobby and made him get up and eat. How sad is it that Cas doesn't FEEL anything, what you described as "numb despair"? T^T Tugs at heartstrings!
I'm stoked you added a chapter! I'd probably think however you were going to originally progress the story would've been great- and now with the spankin' new chapter, that greatness wouldn't change, just be even better. :D ('Cause prolonging angst? Sadistically gleeful, I am.)
